Every time I give a tutor my email address, let''s say its beachfete@soso.com(which is very similar to what my email addy is), I always get some sort of heat. They always say, why do you have an email like that? You should have something that sounds more professional...
Well I say, stop judging the book by the cover. One of my many steps to attaining success, is having my goals written or posted somewhere that I am constantly reminded of them. You know, so I never lose sight. (If you haven't done it at any point in your life, try it, especially for the long term goals.)
My email address is one such thing, it is the future name of my event coordinating company. I've known what I've wanted to do with my life since I made that email address, way back in 2003, when I was 13. I knew I wanted to do something involving the planning, promotion and execution of events, and my email address was created so that one day, in my future, that email address would be shared by other members of my very big cooperation.
Oftentimes we jump to conclusions about things, based on our perceptions to images and attitudes portrayed by people. Don't jump!
The surface of that water may be clear, but that sand could be closer than you originally thought. Nothing sinks a boat faster, than a miscalculation.
Some people not only jump without looking, they jump into a fog and never find their way out, meaning, they are so stuck in their misconception, that no light is penetrating.
My words of advice, for you to be successful, have a cautious, but OPEN mind, it can open doors that you would have closed off.
Don't always give into your first instinct about people because of the way they are dress, their speech or their email address. First impressions matter, but they are hardly always right.
Here's to positive people!
Yea that's one of the reason's I created a second email address. My mom kept saying my first one was not professional sounding. Mine had no such meaning to me like yours does do so you keep your email. One day they might look back and recognize that email after it has achieved greatness, and they won't be saying it isn't professional sounding.
