Hi all, I know I said I would be blogging alot more, but I haven't lived up to that excpectation.
As unbelievable as it sounds, school is now ending it's first week and already I am swamped with school work and guild activities.
Its hectic and I don't feel like there are enough hours in the day, but I love it...stress is something I love to conquer and nothing in this world quite feels like the rush you get from knowing you achieved what you set out to do.
As much as I love it tho, there are times when I can't focus as all the work seems to be as important as the thing I started to work on...but I employ the 'big picture method.'
Ween I find that I can't focus, I take a break, take a couple deep breathes and then I reevaluate what I'm doing and it helps to center the mind, while placing things in perspective.
So for all of you out there, if you feel the pressure hitting you, take a break, take a breathe and center your mind.
Here's to positive people!

A lil reminder
SO its back to school YAY its a bittersweet thing for me as I'm sure it is for many people.
Leaving all the comforts of home (mom's cooking) to now fend for myself. Sigh...all part of growing up I guess.
This year, the sweet part is that it's my FINAL year and that alone is cause for celebration!
The bitter part is that I have the headache of registering for classes (and with the way the system my college operates I'll have an easier time jumping to the moon than getting it sorted.
All I can say to students out there is have patience, everything will eventually be sorted out. And I mean everything...too often I find that people allow the pressure to build up and I mysekf am very guilty of this. Its hard sometimes to just step back take a deep breathe and steady yourself. Everything feels like its just as important as the thing that comes before it.
However, as I learned this summer, taking a step back and looking at the overall picture helps to place everythingin perspective, you can pinpoint exatly what is important from what isn't.
So when you are in the middle of a deep or mild panic, try to stop take a deep breath and before you know it things will seem alittle more clear.
Slowing down your mind gets rid of the rushed feeling and you ultimately start to feel better.
Try it today if you feel pressured.
Here's too positive people!

Goal checklist-My awesome summer
Well I said I was going to do a post about my goals for the summer and I guess this is as good a post as any.
So first off what were my goals?
1. Spend a ton of time with Handsome
2. Find a summer job
3. Work with my CHLP club
4. Connect with old friends
5. Attend Kadooment Day and Bridgetown Market
6. Hopefully attend CHLP Youth Vibes in St. Kitts
Did I achieve any of these..well lets see...
1. Spend a ton of time with Handsome- I sure did and for 99.99% of the time it was fantastic! The other 0.01
was time we had our tiny disagreements. WHat I love most about my Handsome is that even when we get somad offset at each other we never go to bed offset...even if we do we wake up and make sure that the other wakes up to hear we love each other.
2.Find a summer job-did not succeed in this one but I don't mind, it was disappointing sure, but was expected so my hopes were never high on that front to begin with and it opened a chance for me to do other things this summer. (will explain)
3. Work with my CHLP club-CHLP stands for Caribbean Healthy Lifestyle Program, its a youth club that teaches youth life skills and trains them so they are able to pass it onto other youth and Barbados has one branch of it in the region. This summer we did a lot of work with five different camps. Though its volunteer work and I actually lost money, it was actually very enriching to help mold young minds.I was also able to help coordinate a lifeskills workshop for the youth has well as a social event for the club.
4. Connect with old friends- This was achieved...to an extent. So many of my friends have gone so far on their own path, that even tho we all used to 'roll deep' its hard to find them. However, I was able to see some of them, share laughs and I'm actually proud that I made time to do this. I personally think life is a place for friends...takes some of the pressure off sometimes.
5. Attend Kadooment Day and Bridgetown Market- Did not get to Kadooment, which is our big jump up day (carnival) it was raining so hard down my side that I didn't bother, but I caught some of it on tv. I did get to bridgetown market and this year it was a family affair. Mom, dad, nephew and niece all bundled into a car and took that stroll along the mile long street fair. It was nice, then I ended it with my tradition of sitting in Handsome's gallery with friends until an ungodly hour in the morning...it was great.
6. Hopefully attend CHLP Youth Vibes 5 in St. Kitts-(I actually knocked off quite a few goals with this) You know what CHLP is, but youth vibes is the annual REGIONAL conference that is held by a different club in a different country each year. I had no plans on going, just really big dreams since on my student budget of no money, and my having no job, with gave me a startling (-^) income of no money, I was beyond broke to find airfare and accommodation money. Then God came through for me and I was fully SPONSORED to attend Youth Vibes 5 in the sweet, sweet sugar city of St. Kitts.
I not only attended, but I attended as a facilitator this year and that has been one of my goals since I entered CHLP way back in 2005. (yay)
While I was their I made a ton of new friends, reconnected with old friends from previous youth vibes that live all over the Caribbean.
To add icing on the cake, I WON THE INTEGRITY AWARD. And almost like this wasn't enough, this year it was sponsored by a major telecommunications giant within the caribbean, so not only did I win an award, I also won a BLACKBERRY CURVE. Which coincidentally, was on my goal list to try and attain this year.
So by attending youth vibes I actually achieved not one but4 FOUR of my goals.
I really feel like I accomplished much this summer and its an awesome feeling. I hope many of you attained some goal you wanted, feel free to share it in the comment box.
Now its off to pack (been trying to pack for two weeks and still haven't finished and I leave tomorrow...sigh)

I'm Back (vacation is over and its time to get back)
Well its been four months since my last post and for all of you who don't remember allow me to remind you why.
I'm a 20 yr old girl from the beautiful island of Barbados who studies in Jamaica and the four months of absence on the blog stems from the fact that I've been home on vacation and HAVE ENJOYED EVERY PRECIOUS MOMENT OF IT! (lol)
Alot has happened this summer and I have achieved so much of my goals (that will come in a later post) and more importantly than that I spent alot of time with my soulmate, who from henceforth should further mention of him be done, shall be called Handsome! (so it shall be hehehehe)
Will miss him so much over the next few months but hopefully either these months will fly or we will both be occupied so it doesn't seem so long lol.
I hope everyone has done atleast 2-5 things on their summer list and even better than that I hope you have all enjoyed your summer period.
Looking forward to bringing some sort of reading entertainment to you, think my next post will be about the direction of this blog.
Until then I bid you adieu and in the eternal language of anyone who has ever glazed at the stars...Live long and prosper!
